The low-cost cloud-based Learning Management System

A trip up North

One of the most important things we’ve discovered over the past couple of months is the importance of criticism. It’s not just about trying to attack your business idea from every possible angle, it’s about putting yourself right in the firing line so that as many people as possible get to give you feedback. Some other people involved in start-ups we’ve encountered have been protective of their ideas to a fault – they refuse to discuss their idea with anybody.

So, always hungry for more perspectives we found ourselves heading up the M1 to Sheffield to visit Learning Light, a not-for-profit organisation based around e-learning and learning technologies. We gave them an introduction to our system, and then scribbled as many notes as we could while they gave us fantastic feedback: from details of potential competitors right the way through to identifying potential customers.

The feedback is invaluable, so we would like to extend a public thanks to Gillian and David of Learning Light for taking the time to meet with us. Every time we go through this process, the business idea gets refined once again.
